Specifics
on Hosting Providers
What
Countries are the servers that your hosting providers use
located?
The website
hosting providers we use house websites on servers located
UK, Germany, Belize, and Costa Rica. The Costa Rica provider
is located in the same building as Dell South America. So,
with a Co-Location account, you can purchase a Dell computer(s)
minus shipping and taxes and have them formatted and installed
without having to ship it yourself. They will also of course
provide your technical support on site if needed.
TOP
How stable are
the hosting providers and their servers?
The providers
have all been researched carefully, and their facilities are
all modern and run state-of-the-art equipment with fast transmission
speeds on an optical fiber Internet backbone. This fiber-optic
base is a great deal faster than what runs in the U.S. and
many other areas.
TOP
What are the
hosting providers' Privacy Policies?
The providers
we use all administer the same privacy policy we have listed
on our website. The information given by the client to enter
in the whois lookup for the specific domain is the information
listed as the contact information for the website. Anonymous
Domain Name Registration is offered for those looking
to keep their email address private. Emails are forwarded
to the client (owner) automatically.

Website
Hosting: The Basics
What
is Website Hosting?
For
a website to be hosted is for it to be housed on a server
at a given location by a hosting company.
TOP
What
is 'Offshore' Website Hosting?
The hosting
of a website overseas. The offshore hosting accounts we offer
allow you to house your website on an international server
outside your country of residence.
TOP
Can I Transfer
an Existing Domain Name to one of your Hosts' Servers?
Yes.
The contact for your current domain, or your prior domain
host, can contact your new host to have them redirect your
domain name to the new server. This is done by changing the
DNS Server Addresses within the configuration at the prior
host's server to point to the server at the new host. Your
DNS Numbers will be emailed to you upon payment for your new
account.
TOP
How many Days
does it take to Setup New Hosting?
If you are getting
a new website domain, it may be registered as early as the
same day, and up to three days, after submission. Once your
domain is activated, or if you are simply transferring your
domain from another host, it takes approximately 72 hours
for the domain to propagate to the new server. In order to
make sure there is not a lapse in the service of your domain,
we highly recommend that you keep your current service active
until the transfer is complete.

TOP

How can I keep
the Down Time of my Website to a Minimum during the Domain
Transfer Period?
If you choose,
we will provide you with a temporary IP address for you to
upload and test your website before you initiate a transfer.
Once the transfer process is complete, the data record will
point your domain to our host's server. Then you can request
from your previous host that they delete the old domain name
information from their DNS server.
TOP
How will I Display
my Website on the Internet?
Once your domain
name has propogated to the new server, you will need to upload
your HTML and associated files to your established account
with our website hosting provider. If the first page of your
website is an Active Server Page script file, then it must
be called one of the following: index.htm, default.htm,
index.html, or default.asp. You should ensure that
your home page is located in your root directory rather than
in a subfolder. Otherwise, your site cannot be displayed unless
a browser has that exact subfolder address in the browser
window.
TOP
How will I Upload
Content to my Website?
You will
be given access to your website via File Transfer Protocal
(FTP) or it will be published via Microsoft FrontPage server
extensions. However, if you choose to have FTP access to your
website and/or FrontPage extensions installed, you must work
on the site with caution. If you are not careful, you can
easily overwrite the extensions and destroy the integrity
of the website.
TOP
Will I be able
to Access my Website to Update it and Make Changes?
Yes. Our hosts
provide you with unlimited access (24 hours per day; 7 days
per week) to update and make changes to your website via FTP
or FrontPage.
